Shannon Haragan, MA, MFA, LPCAlthough Shannon's approach to counseling draws from a variety of therapeutic models and techniques (including EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness and interpersonal neurobiology), all are rooted in the fundamental principles of non-judgmental acceptance, authenticity and experience. Her style is active, both in and outside of sessions, as she regularly seeks ongoing training to increase her knowledge and skill level as a clinician. Her ultimate goal as a therapist is to help you develop knowledge and tools that will facilitate sustained growth long after therapy has ended.
Shannon works with adults and teens on issues such as trauma/PTSD, anxiety, stress management, and codependency/boundary issues. Additionally, she has a special interest in providing support to families of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Having an arts and teaching background, she also enjoys working with performers and other creatives on issues of stage fright and peak performance. Inclusiveness and cultural competency are strongly held values in her practice. All are welcome regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation. In addition to traditional in-office therapy, Shannon also offers HIPAA-compliant teletherapy (online, similar to Skype) to individuals located anywhere in Texas, which may be covered by insurance.
